The Biotechnology
Office was established to provide advice and
support on the supervision of activities related
to agricultural biotechnology and biosafety,
especially those concerning authorizations for
the environmental release and commercialization
of genetically modified plants and animals (to
be used in agricultural/livestock and aquaculture
activities); it is also devoted to define policies,
and to design specific regulations, and to aid
in the public diffusion of the SAGPyA activities
related to biotechnology issues.
